Job summary

The City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering, development, GIS/mapping, and construction management services for Water Utility, Water Reclamation, Sewer Collections, hydro-generation and geothermal systems. The ideal candidate will hold a CA professional engineer license and a CA Class C license, with 5+ years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Science, Geology, Geography, Mathematics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or other applicable engineering or technical field.
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional and supervisory experience in a water, wastewater, public works, or environmental engineering field which includes at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Valid California Professional Engineer license; and a valid California Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Supervise, evaluate and develop assigned staff; ensure work quality and accuracy.
Plan, assign, supervise and review engineering activities for Water Utility, Water Reclamation, Sewer Collections, hydro-generation and geothermal systems, and related mapping and data management.
Coordinate and schedule engineering, development, GIS/mapping, and construction management services; provide clerical administrative support as needed.
