Job summary

Generac is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on current and new designs under supervision. The role involves continuous improvement to reduce defects, problem identification, containment, and action planning to ensure test requirements are met.

The position supports the engineering lab with test setup, data recording, and collaboration with manufacturing. A high school diploma and 10 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and products per testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for specified criteria (mechanical, electrical, environmental, electromechanical) per ISO 17025 scope.
• Interpret and document measurements and scientific notation (temperature, pressure, etc.).
• Assist in assembly and fabrication of test equipment per blueprints.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting; maintain test documentation and databases.
• Prepare formal and informal test reports and assist with audits and 5S programs.
