Location: Fargo, ND – full‑time, based in the office with occasional out‑of‑town travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians and support staff on water resource projects from planning through design and construction.
- Develop project plans, specifications, and reports, ensuring independent management of projects while mentoring team members.
- Communicate regularly with clients, supervisors, and project teams, providing progress updates throughout all project phases.
- Attend company, project, and client meetings on a consistent basis.
- Prepare proposals and participate in client interviews to secure new work; business‑development responsibilities grow with experience.
- Provide direction to engineering technicians on project plan and specification development.
- Coordinate with other engineering departments on complex, multi‑discipline projects.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and the employee handbook with full legal and ethical compliance.
- Participate in professional organizations and community leadership programs.
- Be willing to work overtime, especially during construction season, and travel as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain a license within 6–12 months is required.
- 5–15 years of experience as a civil engineer in water resources and storm‑water management.
- Strong project‑management skills and experience in construction management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Flexible working style and willingness to adjust schedules to meet deadlines or client needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience in watershed modeling, storm‑water system design, pump‑station design, equipment sizing, civil drawings, and cost estimation is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CADD‑based design software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements
- Operate a computer in a normal ergonomic office setting.
- Work outdoors during construction season.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods during construction observation and surveying.
- Work required hours and schedule.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Salary & EEO
Base Salary Pay Range: $95,000 – $130,000 (actual salary depends on experience, education, licensure, location, and internal equity).
