Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, development, analysis, and maturation of midframe components and structures for gas turbine engine applications.
  • Provide technical leadership for component ownership, design decisions, trade studies, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with stress, thermal, manufacturing, materials, systems, and program teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Drive execution of technical deliverables to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Manage design changes, support producibility improvements, and coordinate through validation and release processes.
  • Work with team leadership to priorities with program milestones, risk reduction plans, and resource constraints.
  • Communicate status, risks, decisions, and recovery plans clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Mentor engineers and help strengthen technical rigor, team engagement, and standard work.

The T901 engine program is in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (E&MD) program phase – an exciting time filled with continued engine tests and the transition of hardware from development into initial production. The Lead Engineer –Structures Design will lead design, analysis, and execution activities for structural components within the Cold Section Structures team. This role is responsible for owning technical deliverables across the component lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams, and driving design solutions that meet program, cost, quality, and certification requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

Desired Characteristics
  • An additional minimum of 2 years’ experience in turbomachinery mechanical design engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in CAD design and analysis, especially Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS classic.
  • Demonstrated expertise in rotor design, test, and analysis tools and systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, especially high-precision, turbomachinery components.
  • Experience and familiarity with GD&T principles and reading drawings.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems independently.
  • Ability to independently organize, document, plan and execute simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.

The base pay range for this position is 109,250.00 - 146,050.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 7th, 2026.
