Job summary

Venture Global LNG seeks a Lead Engineer, Structural to join our Houston engineering team. The role reports to the Director of Structural Engineering and focuses on managing structural design for LNG facilities in a regulated, capital‑intense environment.

The candidate will interface with regulators, coordinate survey efforts, and provide technical input to RFIs while guiding field interactions and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in refining and petrochemical LNG projects.
• Willing to travel less than 25%.
• Self-directed with limited supervision and strong coordination within a project team.
• Excellent oral and written communication; cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• LDOT and ACOE regulatory interface.
• Provide input to weekly site engineering reports.
• Review surveyor deliverables and assist with fit-up/interface misses at site.
• Provide technical input to field RFIs and issue resolutions.
• Coordinate with contractor and subcontractor for problem solving.

Summary

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lead Engineer, Structural to join engineering team in Houston, Texas. This position will report to the Director of Structural of Engineering.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• LDOT and ACOE regulatory interface
• Provides input to weekly site engineering report
• Review surveyor deliverables and assist with fit up / interface misses at site
• Provide Technical input to field RFI
• Coordinate with contractor and subcontractor for issue resolution

Qualifications

Required experience

• 15 or more years relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry, LNG Project, preferably with 2 years EPC experience
• Travel < 25% expected.
• Self directs work with limited supervision.
• Work with project team as representative and coordinates work within discipline department.
• Adjusts to varying demands of work and manage changes.
• Skill in oral and written communication
• Works collaboratively across departments and involves others in solving problems. Initiates meetings within own team, other disciplines or internal customers for clarity on work.
• Serves as technical resource and point of contact for external or internal customers.
• STAAD Pro, Risa, STAAD Foundation, Mat 3D Foundation.3D MathCAD
• Navisworks, Microstation, AutoCAD

Preferred Experience

• Licensed Professional Engineer with NCEES records preferred

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
