Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Houston, TX is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join the structural team reporting to the Director of Structural Engineering. This in-office, Monday–Friday position is located in Downtown Houston.

The role focuses on reviewing engineering and design documents for piling, foundations, and steel racks, ensuring compliance with standards, codes, and vendor data, and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry; LNG project preferred with EPC experience.
• Experience in managing and responding to RFIs from owner’s construction team, vendors, EPC contractors.
• Familiarity with standards, specifications and local codes/regulations; able to review vendor documents.
• Proficient in structural design software and coordination with multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

Summary

We are seeking an Associate Structural Engineer for our team in Houston, Texas. This position will report to the Director of Structural Engineering. This position will be located on our Downtown Houston office. This is a Monday-Friday in-office position.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the review of the work of engineers and designers developing engineering and design documents for Piling & Foundation and Module & Stick Built Steel Pipe Racks/Structures as needed for the project.
• Reviewing, monitoring and ensuring compliance requirements are met for the design (e.g. Standards, specification and local codes and regulations etc.)
• Regularly performs reviews of vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheet requirements are met.
• Considers multiple solutions and makes good decisions based on good data analysis.
• Manages several different assignments simultaneously.

Required experience

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry, LNG Project preferably with EPC experience.
• Self directs work with limited supervision.
• Work with project team as representative and coordinates work within discipline department.
• Adjusts to varying demands of work and manage changes.
• Skill in oral and written communication
• Works collaboratively across departments and involves others in solving problems. Initiates meetings within own team, other disciplines or internal customers for clarity on work.
• Serves as technical resource and point of contact for external or internal customers.
• Should have experience in managing and responding to the RFIs from owner’s construction team, vendors, EPC contractors.
