Job summary

Entegris, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer in Colorado Springs to design and launch next generation MicroEnvironments products for photomask handling in semiconductor manufacturing.

You will lead mechanical design, mold tooling, and supplier collaboration. You will apply CAD (SolidWorks/Creo), FEA/CFD, and moldflow analyses to optimize performance, manufacturability, and reliability while guiding products from concept through production launch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years hands-on product design and development experience.
  • Experience with design FMEA and process FMEA.
  • Strong CAD proficiency in SolidWorks and Creo.

Job Title: Lead Engineer, Product Development Engineering
Job Description

Position Summary: We areseekinga talented and driven Product Development Engineer to join our team to design and launch next generation MicroEnvironments products – critical technologies enabling the safe storage and transport of critical photomasks used in semiconductor manufacturing. This role is ideal for a hands‑on mechanical engineer who thrives on solving complex problems involving mechanical design, plastic molding, metal machining and particle contamination control.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead design and development of metal based photomask handling systems
  • Lead product enhancements and derivative designs to improve performance and manufacturing efficiency
  • Drive innovation in high-purity, high precision products
  • Build, test, and validate prototypes in real-world conditions
  • Collaborate across simulation, manufacturing, and supplier teams
  • Perform FEA, CFD, and moldflow analyses for design optimization
  • Take products from concept through production launch
  • Utilize Accolade and other project management tools to plan, track, and report progress on engineering projects

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years of hands‑on product design and development experience.
Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation in product and process design.
  • Strong understanding of physics and material science principles with the ability to apply them effectively to engineering designs.
  • Proficient in CAD software, including SolidWorks and Creo.
  • Experience with Design FMEA and Process FMEA.
  • Strong ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong precision machining experience and design for manufacturability.
  • Solid background in semiconductor industry including knowledge of customer requirements.
  • Proven ability to launch products and solve complex design and manufacturing challenges.
Project & Process Skills:
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with Gantt charts, timelines, and milestone tracking.
  • Experience with structured product development and project management work environment.
  • Experience managing engineering and manufacturing change control processes.
Communication & Collaboration:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear, professional, and concise technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Strong team orientation with a collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrates a strong "get-it-done" mentality and holds both self and others accountable for delivering on commitments and achieving results.
  • Quick learner with adaptability to new tasks and processes.
  • Proven experience collaborating with global teams, including colleagues and stakeholders across Asia.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a standard office and lab environment.
  • May require occasional lifting of prototypes or test equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  • Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
  • Visual acuity for detailed design work and inspection.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel to manufacturing sites, suppliers, or customers may be required.

Compensation:
  • $120k-150k range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
