The ideal candidate combines strong hands‑on technical depth with communication skills to lead discussions, gather requirements, and manage client relationships directly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end design, development, and delivery of Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models for enterprise clients
  • Design robust, scalable data models (star/snowflake schemas) that support performance, accuracy, and long‑term maintainability
  • Write and optimise complex SQL queries, snowpark scripts and stored procedures to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting needs
  • Architect and implement solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric, including Snowflake and advanced snowflake services
  • Develop and optimise DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query (M) transformations for complex business logic
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, leading requirement‑gathering sessions, status updates, and solution walkthroughs
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and guide a team of engineers through implementation
  • Implement row‑level security (RLS), workspace governance, and access controls across Power BI and Fabric environments
  • Review team deliverables for quality, performance, and adherence to best practices; provide mentorship to junior and mid‑level engineers
  • Monitor solution performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation and cost efficiency
  • Document architecture, data models, and development standards for ongoing governance and knowledge transfer
Must Have Skills:
  • 10+ years of overall experience, with strong hands‑on expertise in Power BI (dashboards, reports, DAX, Power Query)
  • Strong experience in data modelling, including star/snowflake schema design for enterprise reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including query optimisation and working with relational databases
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, OneLake, or related components)
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to lead client conversations and manage stakeholder relationships directly
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery and mentor engineering teams
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT pipelines, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) or Snowflake‑related certifications
Professional Skills:
  • Solid written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong team and individual player
  • Maintains composure during all types of situations and is collaborative by nature
  • High standards of professionalism, consistently producing high quality results
  • Self‑sufficient, independent requiring very little supervision or intervention
  • Demonstrate flexibility and openness to bring creative solutions to address issues
