Job summary

Collinson Group is seeking a Lead Engineer to act as the technical backbone of a 5-7 person squad. You will write code daily, set standards for quality, and architect scalable software with close collaboration with a product manager.

Expect to mentor engineers, refine requirements, and make key architectural decisions. The role focuses on modern cloud-native tech (TypeScript, AWS, GraphQL) to build greenfield systems, embedding AI, automation, and best-in-class engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small software team of engineers
• Hands-on coding with design, architecture, and mentoring responsibilities
• Proven ability to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions using TypeScript and AWS

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and deploy scalable software across client and server sides
• Guide squad in technical decisions and best practices
• Spend majority coding, reviewing, and designing APIs and services
• Collaborate with UX for UI and develop APIs/services
• Mentor engineers and promote continuous learning
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS with Terraform, Kubernetes
• Champion TDD, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
