This position is responsible for providing technical leadership for Dynamic Stability studies within Duke Energy Grid Stability & Advanced Studies. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for power system dynamic performance and advanced transmission studies supporting transmission expansion planning, large load interconnections, regulatory compliance, and special system investigations. The Lead Engineer is the technical specialist level of the engineering hierarchy. Employees at this level provide leadership, technical direction, mentoring, and oversight for complex engineering programs and studies with broad organizational impact.
The Lead Engineer is expected to exercise independent judgment, establish technical approaches, develop engineering processes and standards, and provide technical guidance to engineers across the organization. This role serves as a primary technical resource for dynamic stability studies and will provide support and guidance related to other advanced studies. This role represents Duke Energy in industry and regulatory forums.
Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
