Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks an experienced Engineer/Technologist to perform complex engineering work under supervision, applying technical knowledge to achieve objectives safely, efficiently and economically.

Roles span Grades 7–9 with ABET‑accredited degrees and PE eligibility; strong leadership, planning, problem solving, communication and teamwork are essential to deliver reliable energy solutions for customers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with typically four or more years of related engineering experience.
• PE license encouraged and preferred.
• Entry/Advancement paths include Grade 7, 8, or 9 with ABET accreditation and PE alignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership within the organization.
• Guide and coordinate work of other engineers.
• Develop and monitor project plans and budgets.
• Interpret codes and regulations; develop standards.
• Communicate complex technical topics to management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate across disciplines to achieve objectives.
