Job summary

Raft is seeking a senior software engineer to help build a data-focused product with open source tech such as Kafka, Trino, DuckDB, and Superset. You will contribute to both backend and frontend, delivering end-to-end features that empower users to tell data stories.

The role requires 8+ years building RESTful APIs and 5+ years in React with TypeScript/JavaScript, plus strong architectural skills. Security+ readiness and willingness to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building RESTful APIs from concept to implementation in Go, Java, Python, Rust, or Scala.
• 5+ years frontend experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong software architecture and design skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch for low-latency apps.
• Experience in cloud-native software delivery and release processes.
• Familiarity with Maven, Gradle, and NPM.
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes in distributed clusters.
• Experience with AI coding assistants.
• Demonstrated ability to own complex projects and large responsibilities.
• STEM background or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve data-focused product using open source tech like Kafka, Trino, DuckDB, and Superset.
• Develop backend APIs and frontend features to enable data storytelling in the product.
• Own design and architecture decisions for scalable systems.
