Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Controls Test Engineer to lead and execute design, analysis, and testing for complex fuel and hydraulic system components.

The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, a DoD Secret clearance (preferred), and the ability to influence programs across cross-functional teams in a demanding aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least four years of experience in Engineering).
  • At least three additional years of experience in an Engineering or Testing position.
  • U.S. Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or granted asylum/refugee status.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adherence to standards and requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel and cross‑functional teams.
  • Implement plans to meet technical requirements of components and systems.
  • Develop action plans to respond to issues or problems.
  • Lead or participate on teams addressing organizational initiatives and issues.
  • Recommend approaches to meet technical and program requirements.
  • Lead, participate, and present in technical and program reviews.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects.

Job Description Summary

Controls Test Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. Has the experience or expertise to solve complex problems, able to develop and execute objectives for self and others, and capable of effecting short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel and cross‑functional teams supporting the assigned project.
  • Implement plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems.
  • Develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues or problems.
  • Lead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
  • Recommend, with guidance, approaches to meet technical and program requirements.
  • Lead, participate, and present or review in technical and program reviews.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least four years of experience in Engineering).
  • At least three additional years of experience in an Engineering or Testing position.
  • Must maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or granted asylum/refugee status under the Immigration and Naturalization Act.
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Electrical or mechanical design knowledge for fuel and hydraulic system components.
  • FADEC Test System experience.
  • Existing and active DoD Secret Security clearance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude related to components and systems of increasing complexity.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $95,000 – $125,000 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission. This posting is expected to close on September 22, 2026.
