Saber Power Services, based in Houston, TX, seeks a Lead Engineer to design, analyze, and supervise electrical power systems and substations. You will coordinate with constructors, vendors, and clients, and deliver complete design packages.

The role requires a BSEE from an ABET-approved program, 10+ years of experience or PE license, and strong knowledge of power system studies and industry standards.

Formación

• BSEE from ABET approved university.
• Licensed as a professional engineer (PE) or 15+ years of experience.
• NCEES record is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems design and analysis.
• Experience supervising a design team.
• Solid knowledge of industry standards and guidelines (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC).

Responsabilidades

• Creates designs independently and produces conceptual designs and associated information.
• Provides technical guidance to engineers, designers and drafters.
• Supervises a design team and coordinates with constructors, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Specifies major equipment such as generators, transformers, circuit breakers and switchgear.
• Reviews electrical studies (power flow, short-circuit, device evaluation, coordination, arc flash).
• Ensures quality of drawings and installation details.

Educación

BSEE from ABET approved university

Professional Engineer license (PE) or 15+ years experience

NCEES record a plus

Power systems design and analysis

Supervisory / lead design team experience

Standards and guidelines knowledge (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC)

Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.Position Summary:

A Lead Engineer independently develops, designs, and analyzes electrical power systems and
substations. The engineer also supervises a full design team and provides full technical support to
constructors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and clients

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creates designs independently
• Produces conceptual designs and associated information
• Provides technical guidance to engineers, designers and drafters
• Provides supervision to a design team
• Specifies major equipment such as generators, transformers, circuit breakers and switchgear
• Controls quality of specified equipment and design packages
• Supervises production of technical drawings such as one-line diagrams, protection and control
  schematics, interconnection drawings, equipment arrangement plans, section views, grounding
  plans, conduit plans, cable tray plans and all associated installation details
• Reviews or performs electrical studies such as power flow, short-circuit, device evaluation, device
  coordination, static and dynamic motor starting, harmonic analysis, ground grid analysis and arcflash hazard assessment
• Acts as a company representative and manages correspondence between clients, suppliers and
  coworkers
• Takes ownership and responsibility with each project

Qualifications:

• BSEE from ABET approved university
• 10+ years’ experience
• Licensed as a professional engineer or 15+ years of experience
• NCEES record a plus
• Thorough understanding of industry standards and guidelines including ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, NEC,
  NESC, and others
• Understanding constructability of design, field concepts, practices, and procedures
