Job summary

Nexamp is seeking a Lead Energy Storage Engineer to serve as a technical expert for utility‑scale and distributed storage systems, driving safety, code compliance, and performance across development, procurement, construction, and operations.

You will work with Development, Engineering, Construction, Asset Management, and external stakeholders to ensure bankable, reliable storage solutions and long‑term asset performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience, with 5+ years in battery energy storage systems.
• Experience with utility-scale or DG energy storage design, engineering review, due diligence, safety analysis, and code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluations, system design reviews, and engineering due diligence for storage projects across development, procurement, construction, and operation.
• Serve as internal SME on storage safety, fire protection, and code compliance, coordinating with AHJ and permitting teams.
• Lead vendor qualification assessments, evaluate cell chemistry, BMS, PCS, thermal management, and integration architecture; support procurement through reviews and audits.
• Review and validate battery storage architecture, electrical integration, thermal management, and fire suppression strategies from OEMs and integrators.
• Provide risk assessments on reliability, degradation, augmentation, and asset management; develop engineering standards and processes.
