Job summary

VEG is seeking a Lead Emergency Veterinarian to champion clinical excellence and mentor the team across our VEG hospitals. You’ll work with the medical director to strengthen VEG’s medical processes and coach doctors to thrive in a fast-paced ER environment.

You’ll lead by example in VEG’s patient-centered approach, support growth plans, and ensure high-quality care, while maintaining a culture of mentorship and learning for lasting impact.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree required.
• 2+ years of ER experience and critical case management.
• One year leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Training in emergency surgery/endoscopy.
• Willingness to lead and support fellow doctors and perform admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical shifts and mentor doctors to maintain clinical excellence.
• Coach and develop colleagues, fostering VEG's patient-centered approach.
• Assist Medical Director during coverage gaps or leave periods.
• Prepare doctor schedules and manage leaves two months in advance.
• Address customer complaints and ensure top patient care and hospital revenue.
