Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Software Verification Engineer to lead verification and testing across power conversion system software, from programmable relays to large drives and multi-megawatt cabinets with up to 15kV.

You will influence software requirements, drive automated verification, and mentor engineers while coordinating cross-functional teams in a demanding, high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience developing/testing embedded systems, including formal verification and validation in high-reliability environments.
• Proficient in Python and C/C++.
• Collaborate in Agile teams using Scrum; participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives.
• Coordination and communication across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Develop efficient, reusable unit and requirements-based software tests.
• Strong foundation in standard software development processes and configuration management.
• Self-starter who takes accountability for software validation/verification.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Drive analysis of customer requirements and development of internal software requirements for verification.
• Lead development of manual and automated software verification procedures for full requirements coverage.
• Lead validation and verification of large embedded software subsystems.
• Collect and summarize test results and present to customers.
• Coordinate software requirements-based tests and system test activities for teams of varying sizes.
• Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks.
• Provide configuration management and maintenance for released test procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers in testing best practices and issue resolution.
• Participate in process improvements across the software lifecycle.
