Job summary

Stryker Medical's Emergency Care business seeks a Staff Software Engineer, Embedded, to drive design, development, testing, and integration of embedded software for powered ambulance cots and patient handling systems.

You will lead and contribute to software that controls electromechanical systems, sensors, and connected device functionality, translating customer needs into reliable medical solutions. A strong emphasis on cybersecurity and rigorous testing accompanies this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering/Computer Engineering/CS or related field.
• 4+ years of embedded software experience.
• Experience designing and testing front-end UI elements and translating concepts into functional applications.
• Strong coding skills in C++, C, and Python with design pattern knowledge.
• Familiar with IDEs, memory management, code coverage, and ALM/Traceability tools.
• Experience with Perforce or Git for version control.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of components, sub-systems, or systems for medical devices.
• Develop embedded software using C++, C, Python per requirements and architecture.
• Implement embedded cybersecurity within medical devices.
• Prototype, test, and research to support product development and innovation.
• Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to design principles and standards.
