Responsibilities

  • Translate user and clinical needs into design inputs, specifications, and innovative hardware solutions.
  • Design and develop complex embedded systems and electronic hardware, using low-power microcontrollers, analog/digital circuits, communication interfaces, and power management architectures.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, design documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Lead PCB design and layout activities, ensuring signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
  • Perform hands-on board bring-up, debugging, testing, and root cause investigations using advanced lab equipment.
  • Develop and execute hardware verification activities, including test plans, DFMEA, design controls, risk management, and compliance documentation.
  • Select and integrate key system components such as sensors, motors, actuators, and other electromechanical technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, software, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, clinical, and cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive medical device product development from concept through launch while incorporating Voice of Customer feedback, clinical insights, and market needs.
  • Ensure compliance with medical device standards, regulatory requirements, quality systems, and Design History File (DHF) documentation while mentoring others on best practices.

What You Will Do

What You Need (Required Qualifications)

  • 4+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and product development.

  • Medical device experience, including design controls, risk management, DFMEA, verification/validation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional product development environment from concept through commercialization.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, quality systems, and Design History File (DHF) documentation.
