Job summary

General Motors seeks a Software Design Release Engineer to lead the development and launch of embedded controller products. You will create and drive product plans, coordinate with product engineering and vehicle manufacturing, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of VMEC embedded control products.

You will manage part numbers, track progress, escalate risks, and lead root cause analysis and improvement initiatives while coaching team members in a fast-paced, global setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years in embedded controls development areas.
• Strong initiative, problem solving, and project management skills.
• Experience leading meetings and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to product plans and ensure on-time delivery of embedded controllers.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage part number proliferation.
• Track status, escalate issues, mitigate timing/quality risk.
