Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Lead Software & Controls Engineer to design and implement embedded control algorithms for vehicle and non-vehicle applications. You will lead technical discussions, mentor teammates, and ensure compliance with government specifications in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.

Reporting to the EGM of ESCS, you will write code, validate designs, and collaborate across GM teams to deliver innovative solutions while balancing GM best practices and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical field (EE/ME/Aerospace/CS).
• 5+ years in embedded controls (algorithm, software or calibration).
• Experience with C, MATLAB, and Simulink; familiarity with Agile CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of embedded control systems.
• Mentor engineering team members and promote software architecture best practices.
• Drive calibration and verification to optimize system performance.
