Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior Elevator Maintenance Mechanic to join the Elevator Shop. The role requires deep knowledge of elevator systems, diagnostic proficiency, strong communication, and leadership to mentor junior technicians.

It also requires adherence to safety standards and building codes, with on-campus and off-campus assignments, and a schedule that includes early morning shifts and some after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or Vocational School
• Experience: 6 years in maintenance, inspection, and repair of elevators
• Licenses & Certifications: Drivers license
• Preferred: CET / IUEC Mechanic Card / QEI

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic elevator inspections as scheduled by preventive maintenance printout
• Clean, lubricate and adjust relays, controls, door operators and pits
• Inspect hoist/gov cables for wear; maintain control rooms and safety devices
• Respond to trouble calls and perform repairs
• Order tools, parts, and equipment; maintain inventory
• Review plans/specs for new elevators
• Perform other duties as assigned
