Job summary
Mott Haven Academy Charter School is seeking an elementary school teacher (Special Education a plus) dedicated to progressive educational practices and high-quality opportunities for underserved communities. Qualifications
- Two or more years of teaching experience (preferably in elementary education).
- Masters Degree in General or Special Education preferred; NYS Teaching Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a co-teacher to develop and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous curriculum aligned with Common Core Standards.
- Inspire students to dedicate themselves to their education.
- Establish and uphold classroom routines for a focused, safe, and caring environment.
- With guidance, analyze assessment data to inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards.
- Maintain close relationships with families, including phone calls and conferences.
