Job description

The Location:

Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA)

In-Person; Wellington, Florida.

The Vibe:

High autonomy, micro-school magic, zero textbook-slavery, massive impact.

The Big Picture:

This isn’t your average teaching gig!

If you are tired of standard 20-30-kid classrooms, rigid pacing guides that kill curiosity, and the endless red tape of traditional schooling—welcome home.

PBIA is the "Macro Micro-School.” We believe education should be a social, cooperative adventure. Our elementary environment feels more like a creative studio or a cozy living room than a sterile classroom. Right now, our K-4 program operates in brilliant, highly personalized micro-cohorts (3 to 5 kids per grade, growing intentionally to 10). We don’t teach to a test; we teach the human being in front of us.

As our Elementary Teacher; Team Leader, you aren’t just running a classroom; you are the captain of the ship for our K-4 team. You will directly teach our curious, energetic 3rd and 4th graders while steering the day-to-day operations, communication, and creative synergy of our elementary staff.

A Day in Your Life at PBIA

You won't find boring, hour-long lesson blocks here. Your day is fast-paced, highly engaging, and structured for deep learning:

8:00-8:30 AM – The Spark: You kick off the day by leading our high-energy, 30-minute morning meeting, setting the tone for the entire K-4 cohort.

The Academic Morning: Dive into self-paced, innovative instruction focusing on Language Arts, followed by a collaborative snack break and experiential Math. You’ll be working directly with our 3rd/4th grade learners, tailoring lessons to exactly what clicks for them.

Lunch & Recess: Real downtime to build relationships and let kids be kids.

The Afternoon Studio: This is where the magic happens. You’ll facilitate hands-on STEAM and project-based learning experiences that bring concepts to life.

2:45 PM – 4:30 PM – The Strategy Zone: Once the kids depart, your leader mindset locks in. This dedicated, daily block is your time to coordinate with our teaching team (including our Reading Specialist), plan epic curriculum, and craft thoughtful, proactive communications to our highly supportive families.

Are You the One?

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and highly organized adult who operates like an entrepreneur. You’re a perfect fit if you are:

A Natural Team Captain: You don’t wait for permission or micro-management. You naturally coordinate people, streamline schedules, and keep the team aligned and inspired.

An Educational Innovator: You know how to run project-based learning and self-paced environments where kids take personal responsibility for their growth.

A Master Communicator: You can present ideas beautifully to colleagues and build deeply trusted partnerships with parents who expect excellence.

Ruthlessly Efficient: Because you have dedicated strategy time in the afternoons, you know how to maximize it so you rarely have to take work home.

The Perks
  • Incredible Autonomy: Say goodbye to bureaucratic micromanagement. You have the freedom to teach the way you’ve always wanted to.
  • Tiny Ratios, Big Impact: Teaching 3-5 kids per group means you actually get to know them and see the immediate fruits of your labor.
  • A Great Space & Elite Families: Work in a beautiful, dynamic environment alongside families who value and respect your expertise.
