Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks an Elementary Teacher to lead Math/Science instruction for 4th and 5th grades at the Western Hills Lower School in San Antonio, TX. As a homeroom lead, you will deliver Great Hearts curriculum, foster a joyful, orderly classroom, and partner with families and school leadership to support student growth in truth, goodness, and beauty.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or higher and US work authorization; certification is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required for lead teaching role.
• US work authorization required.
• Criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
