Job summary

NC Department of Transportation in North Carolina is seeking an Electronics Technician III to supervise the signal technicians in Division 10 Traffic Operations in Stanly County. You will oversee maintenance of ITS devices, troubleshoot microprocessor-based controllers and cabinets, and coordinate contractor activities while ensuring MUTCD standards and NCDOT specs are met.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in electronics and three years of progressive experience in repair and maintenance of complex electronic systems.
Knowledge of MUTCD and NCDOT traffic signal specifications.
Ability to obtain CDL and operate CDL equipment within 360 days of hire.
Pre-employment drug testing is required.

Responsibilities

Supervise the signal technicians in Division 10 Traffic Operations and coordinate contractor activities.
Diagnose malfunctions in traffic signal equipment and repair to the module level.
Install, inspect, and maintain traffic signal installations and ITS devices.
Train personnel, conduct performance reviews, and plan maintenance within budget.
Operate or train others to operate a 24K signal bucket truck; use testing equipment for troubleshooting.
