The Electrician II at the California Department of Public Health Richmond Campus leads the electrical maintenance team, installing, maintaining, and repairing campus systems up to 480V 3-phase. You will oversee work by Building Maintenance staff when assigned and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

This role includes managing emergency power, low-voltage systems such as CCTV and access control, and solar power equipment, with duties aligned to CDPH policies and NFPA70E guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V, 3-phase power distribution, and applicable electrical codes.
• Experience with circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor starters, and UPS systems.
• Knowledge of emergency generators, backup power systems, and automatic transfer switches.
• Experience maintaining lighting systems, electrical controls, and dedicated circuits.
• Familiarity with low-voltage systems, CCTV, access controls, and fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety procedures.
• Ability to lead, coordinate, and prioritize electrical maintenance activities.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and layout plans.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment across campus.
• Lead electrician for Richmond Campus and oversee BMW/MM/SE when assigned.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety standards, and departmental procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot solar power equipment, parking lot lighting, CCTV, access control, and fire/life safety devices.
• Adhere to CDPH policies and OSHA guidelines.
