Job summary

DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY (DON) is seeking an Electrician Leader to support work sites including Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Bangor, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. The role focuses on electrical distribution, installation, maintenance, and repair in a shipyard setting.

Applicants must be eligible for federal employment; relocation may be reimbursed and travel may be occasional.

Responsibilities

• Determine placement of electrical distribution panels and equipment.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical equipment and systems in shipyard environments.
• Repair faulty electrical equipment or systems on nuclear ships using theoretical practices of the trade.
• Operate power tools to cut, bend, fit, and thread electrical components.
• Use hand tools and test equipment to check alignment, output, or resistance.
• Diagnose faulty electrical equipment or systems to determine rework or replacement of components on nuclear ships.
