Job summary

Seattle Theatre Group is seeking a Head Electrician for the STG Fifth Avenue Theatre in Seattle. This part-time, on-site role supports the Stage Department across all shows and events, coordinating with the Head Carpenter and local crews.

The Head Electrician will lead lighting operations, operate the house lighting console when needed, supervise crews, and ensure safety and reliability for performances including corporate events, dance, and musical acts.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of traditional electrics/lighting and related equipment.
• Ability to work from elevated positions and climb as needed.
• Knowledge of lighting networking and cues for live shows.
• Attention to detail in all technical tasks.
• Ability to run cues and busk live music.
• General knowledge of stage carpentry, props, A/V, and sound equipment.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish or ASL) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of varying sizes and coordinate with departments.
• Operate the house lighting console when the show does not provide an operator.
• Collaborate with Head Carpenter to set priorities and duties.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable lighting for all events.
