Job summary

Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA is seeking a Head Electrician/Board Op for the St. Germain Stage. This seasonal role ensures high-quality lighting for every performance and often works independently to maintain show integrity.

You will program and operate lighting and projection systems, repair venue-specific effects, and manage paperwork. Housing is available, and the position reports to the Lighting & Projections Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in theatrical lighting operation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage venue logistics.
• Comfortable working with students and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate lighting and projection consoles for St. Germain productions.
• Repair and maintain venue-specific lighting, perform daily pre-show checks.
• Hang, focus, and strike instruments as per designer instructions.
• Maintain production paperwork (plot, channel hook-up, show run sheets).
• Assist in constructing/wiring of light boxes, star drops, LED tapes.
• Keep electrics shop and lighting booth clean and organized.
• Assist in maintaining lighting inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.
