Job summary

Qualifications

• Journeyman/Master electrician's license preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, motors, motor control systems, switch gear systems (medium and low voltage), low voltage lighting controls systems, and 277-volt fluorescent lighting.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints and schematics.
• Expertise in using sophisticated electronic testing equipment (megohmmeters, voltage meters, amp meters).

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and guidance to team members (including apprentices).
• Installs wiring, conduit, cable trays and devices for electrical, voice and data systems.
• Oversees major electrical asset replacement, acquisition, and renovation projects.
• Plans routes and layouts using blueprints and diagrams to ensure safe operation.
• Maintains and repairs high voltage transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
• Maintains lighting systems, low/medium voltage systems, and UPS units.
• Maintains power distribution networks and transfer systems; tracks inventory and actions in automated systems.
