Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide on-call engineering services for government facility projects in the DC area. You will evaluate electrical materials, systems, and equipment; design and analyze prime power and LV distribution; and set criteria for normal and emergency electrical systems, UPS, generators, lighting, grounding, power monitoring, and control systems.

Responsibilities include code reviews, value engineering, life cycle cost analysis, quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design for commercial or federal buildings.
• Experience designing prime power, LV systems, and emergency power.
• Ability to perform code reviews, value engineering, and life cycle cost analyses.
• Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Level 3) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze prime power and LV electrical systems.
• Develop design criteria for distribution systems, UPS, and generators.
• Contribute to interior, exterior, and architectural lighting, grounding, and power monitoring.
• Perform code reviews, value engineering, and life cycle cost analyses.
• Provide quality control and construction administration services.
