Job summary

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking an Electrician to join our Field Operations Facilities team located in West Chicago, IL. This role is a great opportunity to join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high-quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve.

The position will maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace various electrical equipment and serve as a lead tradesperson in a unique setting.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of related experience as a journeyman skill level Electrician; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Electrical License covering National Electrical Code for residential, commercial and industrial installations recognized by DuPage County, or ability to obtain such license within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Driver's License; Class C Driver's License required within 6 months in good standing.
• Must pass a medical evaluation and fit test, per OSHA regulations, to ensure a respirator can be safely worn when required.
• OSHA 10-hour 1926 training and confined spaces training within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace various electrical equipment.
• Lead tradesperson within the Facilities team in a variety of settings.
• Travel throughout the district as required.
