Job summary

The City of Perrysburg seeks a journeyman electrician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of city electrical assets. You will lead a crew, troubleshoot outages, and coordinate preventive maintenance for lighting, power, and IT systems.

Strong safety discipline and blueprint-reading skills are essential. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with electrical training, a Journeyman license, and CDL preferred or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with vocational/technical electrical training.
• Journeyman Electrician license required; CDL preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
• Ability to interpret codes, schematics, and blueprints; operate with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily work activities, assign tasks, monitor progress, and mentor teammates.
• Receive and triage requests for electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform testing with meters and probes.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and schedule replacements of components.
• Estimate materials, order parts, and manage project timelines.
• Oversee contracted electrical work and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Assist with other city maintenance tasks as needed and ensure safe work zones.
• Maintain records, reports, and documentation of work performed and outages.
