Job summary

Kuehne is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in New Castle, DE, to lead electrical and instrumentation initiatives for plant capital projects. You will support process safety management and coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective outcomes.

You will develop drawings, assist in DCS/PLC/HMI upgrades, and manage CapEx processes while collaborating with EH&S to maintain NFPA70e compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering and project management experience in electrical/instrumentation and controls.
• Experience with medium and low voltage AC/DC power distribution, testing equipment.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PSM, ISO standards, and SCADA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support annual capital expenditure plans for projects within a PSM-driven environment.
• Define scope and develop drawings (P&ID’s, single line, electrical schematics) for projects.
• Support plant Process Control Systems with minor programming changes for DCS/PLC/HMI.
• Submit CapEx Requests, track expenditures, and prepare progress reports.
• Develop companywide standards for electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain NFPA70e compliance with EH&S and coordinate with contractors and outages.
• Review/update electrical, instrumentation and control drawings as needed to support projects and PSM.
• Prepare bid packages, procure materials, and manage construction and commissioning.
• Occasional travel to vendors/sites and after-hours support for plant operations.
