Job summary

Kuehne Chemical Company, Inc in New Castle, DE is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead plant capital projects focused on electrical, instrumentation and controls systems.

The role serves as a technical resource across engineering and maintenance, supporting Process Safety Management initiatives, updating drawings (P&ID, single line, motor control schematics) and coordinating with contractors for design, procurement, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology or related field.
• 7+ years of Engineering and Project Management in electrical/instrumentation and controls for chemical operations preferred.
• Experience with medium and low voltage AC/DC power distribution and diagnostic methods.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PSM, ISO standards and SCADA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage plant capital projects within PSM framework.
• Define scope and develop drawings (P&ID, single line, motor control schematics).
• Support Process Control Systems with minor programming changes for DCS/PLC/HMI.
• Submit CapEx requests, track expenditures, and prepare progress reports.
• Develop standards for companywide electrical/instrumentation/control design.
• Coordinate with EH&S to maintain NFPA70e compliance and other safety requirements.
• Review/update electrical/instrument and control drawings to support projects and PSM.
• Prepare bid packages and oversee procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Coordinate project changes using MOC, PHA, PSSR and related processes.
• Travel to other sites for projects as needed.
