Job summary

CALTEC Corp. is seeking a working foreman to lead and coordinate an electrical crew on a live public works site in Los Angeles. You will read and implement plans, manage inspections, and keep crews productive while maintaining safety and compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

You will oversee apprentices, run lookaheads, and coordinate with multiple trades to ensure timely, quality installations. A California electrician certification and proven foreman experience are required.

Qualifications

• California Electrician Certification (State of California ET/General Electrician certification) – current.
• Minimum 5 years as a journeyman electrician, with at least 2 years running crews as a foreman.
• Experience on prevailing wage/public works projects and familiarity with certified payroll obligations.
• Ability to read and build from electrical plans, single-lines, and specifications without hand-holding.
• OSHA30 (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and any Owner-required background check.
• Comfortable working at height in an occupied/active facility environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and layout the daily work of an electrical crew on an active public works site.
• Read and build from approved plans; route RFIs to PMs to avoid delays.
• Call inspections on time and pass them the first time.
• Keep apprentices productively engaged and maintain compliant apprentice ratios.
• Run the three-week lookahead for your scope and keep the crew loaded.
• Coordinate daily with AV, structural steel, and mechanical trades in the same areas.
• Own daily reports, timecards, and accurate labor coding by cost code.
• Enforce site safety through tailgate meetings, fall protection, LOTO, and energized-work procedures.
