Job summary

GForce Life Sciences in New York seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead electrical subsystem development for a next‑generation surgical robotic platform. The role is hands‑on, focusing on PCBA design, electrical system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.

You will collaborate with Software, Systems, Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to translate requirements into robust electrical solutions from concept through commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Advanced PCBA design experience: schematic, component selection, layout review, bring-up, debugging.
• Proficiency with Altium; experience with rigid, flex, or rigid-flex boards.
• Experience integrating electrical hardware with embedded software and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in design for manufacturability and complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience in robotics, medical devices, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of a major subsystem for a surgical robotic platform.
• Translate product requirements into electrical interfaces and designs.
• Design complex PCBA with schematic, components, and board types.
• Perform PCB layout reviews, bring-up, testing, and debugging using Altium.
• Integrate electrical hardware with software and mechanical systems.
• Make trade-off decisions on performance, safety, cost, and risk.
• Develop electrical verification and EMC test strategies and support labs.
• Troubleshoot multidisciplinary system issues.
• Support design documentation, risk management, transfer, and commercialization.
