Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support our Indiana Harbor facility in East Chicago, IN. This leadership role will drive electrical reliability, equipment performance, and continuous improvement across a heavy industrial environment.

You will lead capital and maintenance projects, mentor maintenance personnel, and partner with operations to maximize safety, reliability, and production performance. Strong troubleshooting and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years in electrical engineering within manufacturing/industrial settings.
Strong troubleshooting, project management and communication skills.
Experience with industrial electrical systems and equipment.
Ability to support 24/7 continuous operation.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical reliability and continuous improvement across operations.
Troubleshoot complex electrical, controls, and automation issues.
Oversee maintenance and capital projects: scope, budget, schedule, implementation.
Perform root cause analysis to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering to support production goals.
Provide technical leadership to maintenance personnel and contractors.
Ensure safety, environmental and quality standards compliance.
Support outage planning, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
Provide technical support for a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.
