Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking a Supervising Electrical Engineer in New Jersey to lead MEP design teams on landmark healthcare and commercial projects. The role requires a PE registration and 12+ years of relevant experience, with strong budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination capabilities.

You will oversee project teams, act as Engineer of Record on selected projects, and help evolve design standards while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Current PE registration is required.
• Healthcare design experience is required or highly preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of rough order of magnitude construction costs and ability to estimate costs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise staff; participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
• Act as Engineer of Record on dedicated projects.
• Coordinate and assign projects to engineering teams; establish design standards and criteria.
• Prepare proposals and administer project contracts; supervise coordination meetings.
• Monitor project finances and prepare monthly invoices; communicate with clients and stakeholders.
• Oversee reporting, documentation, and life-cycle cost analysis for projects.
