Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for industrial projects in Morrisville, NC. The role focuses on designing power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems for a range of facilities and EPC contracts. Some travel to project sites will be required.

You will develop layouts, drawings, and equipment specifications, and coordinate with construction and maintenance teams to ensure conformance with codes and safety standards. On-site startup support is also provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with design/installation of medium- and low-voltage distribution equipment in consulting and construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA codes and standards.
• Ability to handle on-site plant projects with minimal supervision.
• Well organized with deadlines and budgets, interacting with client engineers and maintenance teams.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and CAD systems (AutoCAD).
• PE license or EIT certificate with ability to obtain PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design power system facilities and equipment and coordinate construction, operation, and maintenance of power distribution systems.
• Develop conceptual layouts and sketches for efficient project design.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of electrical engineering projects.
• Develop equipment specifications.
• Develop construction specifications and contractor scope of work documents.
• Direct preparation of drawings and specify equipment and materials for construction and installation.
• Inspect installations for conformance to design specs and safety standards.
• Produce one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layouts, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit/tray routing docs.
• Work with grounding requirements (high resistance, isolated grounding).
• Provide on-site startup support.
