Job summary

AMETEK in San Luis Obispo, California seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design, development, test and evaluation of products, within cost and schedule constraints.

Under minimal supervision, you will plan projects, prepare plans and reports, integrate subsystems, and push certifications for hazardous environments and Bluetooth, aligning with AMETEK's quality system and CAREFORTomorrow values.

Qualifications

• B.S.E.E. or equivalent education required; non-degreed candidates may qualify with substantial industry experience.
• Minimum five years engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience designing digital and analog circuits and testing equipment.
• Firmware design knowledge for microcontrollers.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 quality system and product certifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project plans, requirement documents, test plans and test reports per quality system.
• Design, build, test and evaluate digital and analog circuits to meet goals.
• Integrate subassemblies into prototypes and support production release.
• Resolve nonconformance and drive cost reduction via CAPA and changes.
• Lead certification processes for hazardous environments and Bluetooth.
• Perform duties to support the company's mission and goals.
