Job summary

Parallel Systems seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to direct the design, development, integration, and validation of vehicle electrical systems for production autonomous battery-electric rail vehicles. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience designing, developing, integrating, or validating electrical systems for vehicles or other complex electromechanical products.
• Experience leading architecture and development of complex electrical systems through concept to production.
• Ability to set technical direction and lead resolution of complex electrical challenges.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architectures, power distribution, control systems, and embedded communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience defining system requirements, managing subsystem interfaces, and developing verification/validation strategies.
• Experience with electrical design and documentation tools such as SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, RapidHarness or equivalents.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and communication of technical decisions to engineering, manufacturing and leadership stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system architecture and development, including power distribution and wiring harnesses.
• Define electrical system requirements, interface specs, and design practices with balance of performance, reliability, safety and manufacturability.
• Oversee safety-critical subsystems, including DFMEAs and risk assessments.
• Coordinate cross-functional integration with mechanical, software, controls and autonomy teams.
• Lead design reviews and root-cause analysis to resolve system-level issues.
• Oversee hardware bring-up, bench testing, and prototype vehicle integration for reliability.
• Drive production readiness through design-for-manufacturing collaboration with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Establish engineering processes and documentation standards for traceability and change control.
• Mentor engineers and align deliverables with vehicle development milestones.
• Identify and manage electrical risks and communicate status to stakeholders.
