Job summary

Parallel Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and validation of vehicle electrical systems for our production autonomous battery-electric rail vehicles. This role will own critical electrical architectures and subsystems, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, and compute/sensor networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience designing, developing, integrating, or validating electrical systems for vehicles or complex electromechanical products.
• Proven ownership of electrical systems through multiple lifecycle stages, from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle power distribution and embedded communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience defining system requirements and managing electrical interfaces.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems using first-principles analysis.
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, RapidHarness, or equivalent.
• Strong cross-functional communication with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end electrical system development: Lead the architecture, design, development, integration, and validation of vehicle electrical systems.
• Drive technical design decisions: Establish electrical design requirements, define system interfaces, evaluate tradeoffs.
• Lead safety-critical engineering: Develop DFMEAs, hazard analyses, and verification plans for critical subsystems.
• Lead system integration: Coordinate interfaces with mechanical, software, controls, and autonomy teams.
• Drive hands-on testing and troubleshooting: Lead hardware bring-up, bench testing, and fault isolation.
• Support production readiness: Partner with manufacturing and suppliers for production ramp-up.
• Establish engineering standards: Develop design practices, interface specs, and validation methods.
• Own engineering documentation: Ensure accuracy of schematics, BOMs, test reports, and changes.
• Provide technical leadership: Mentor engineers and drive risk resolution across the lifecycle.
