Job summary

Parallel Systems is building autonomous battery-electric rail vehicles to transform freight transport in the U.S. We seek a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the design, development, integration, and validation of vehicle electrical systems for production platforms.

You will lead architectures, wiring, power distribution, and safety-critical interfaces, partnering across mechanical, software, and autonomy teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical systems for vehicles.
• Experience with CAN and Ethernet.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end electrical system development: lead architecture, design, integration, and validation of vehicle electrical systems.
• Drive electrical design decisions: establish requirements, interfaces, tradeoffs balancing performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead safety-critical engineering: develop DFMEAs, hazard analyses, and verification plans for critical subsystems.
• Lead system integration: coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical, embedded software, controls, and autonomy teams.
• Drive hands-on testing and troubleshooting: hardware bring-up, bench testing, prototype integration, root-cause analysis.
• Support production readiness: partner with manufacturing and suppliers to transition designs to production.
