Lead Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities
- Concept: Work with the cross‑functional team/vendor to outline electrical and compliance design based on product specifications.
- Simulation: Utilize simulation tools to identify risk areas that need to be highlighted.
- Design: Review or create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts using CAD software.
- Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of design failures and develop cost‑effective mitigation strategies.
- Compliance Testing: Perform EMC testing, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and ESD, and identify root causes of compliance failures, providing mitigation strategies such as adding filters, ferrites, or modifying shielding.
- Pilot build support: Provide support for pilot builds if needed.
Key Qualifications
- Background in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- 10+ years of electronics product design process experience.
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as Cadence Sigirity or ANSYS.
- Experience with electrical engineering tools such as soldering machines, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and related equipment.
- Proficiency with high‑end diagnostic and troubleshooting equipment including spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, VNA, and signal generators.
- Mastery of global standards such as FCC (USA), ISED (Canada), CE Mark (Europe), and KC (Korea), including specific knowledge of Korean Radio Certification and FCC Certification protocols.
- Layout review and design expertise.
- Experience with computational modeling tools like ANSYS HFSS, CST Studio Suite, or FEKO to predict EMI issues before physical prototyping.
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience with high‑speed standards such as USB, MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort, RGMII, and PCIe EMC testing.
- Experience with long‑cable EMC testing (USB, HDMI, coaxial).
- Excellent collaboration skills and a passion for staying at the forefront of technology.
Compensation
This position offers an annual base salary typically between $144,000 and $200,000. In certain circumstances, higher compensation will be considered based on the business need, candidate experience, and skills.
