Job summary

PAE is seeking a technically proficient Lead Electrical Engineer for our San Francisco office. You will guide project teams through the design and execution of complex electrical systems, bridging the gap between high-level design and construction documentation.

You will mentor colleagues and ensure power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems meet NEC and industry standards. You will oversee deliverables from narratives to calculations and drawings, lead interdisciplinary coordination,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PE license preferred.
  • 2–4 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC and electrical codes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of deliverables including narratives, calculations, drawings and specs.
  • Apply electrical distribution, lighting and power systems design.
  • Communicate design options to stakeholders.
  • Provide project engineering direction to the team.
  • Evaluate engineering judgment from concepts through construction.
  • Oversee electrical load calculations.
  • Ensure project stays on budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and guide interfaces.
  • Update master specifications and standards.
  • Apply building codes and electrical standards.
  • Perform NEC compliance checks.
  • Conduct site visits and issue reports.
  • Perform load flow, short circuit and arc flash analyses using EasyPower.

We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in determining exact salary offered. At PAE, employees are eligible for annual compensation reviews based on performance and business needs.
