Job summary

PAE Engineers in New York is seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer II to join our hybrid team in the New York office. You will contribute to electrical distribution, lighting, and power system design under a lead engineer, while developing specifications and coordinating with other disciplines.

Requires 1–2 years of Electrical E-1 experience; Engineer in Training preferred. The role includes load calculations, adherence to codes, and client interaction in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • 1–2 years of Electrical E-1 or equivalent experience.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Familiar with project phases and construction processes.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD and Easy Power.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Revit/AutoCAD system engineering.
  • Design electrical distribution, lighting and power systems under a lead engineer.
  • Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail.
  • Read and edit specifications; coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Develop skills to edit/write specifications.
  • Apply building codes and electrical industry standards.
  • Prepare electrical load calculations and equipment selection.
  • Interact with clients and project team members.
  • Assist in cost estimation and reporting.
  • Support site visits and prepare reports.
  • Conduct Load Flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash analysis using Easy Power.
  • Implement the project quality management plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PAE is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II to join our team in a hybrid work environment in our New York office. This role is designed for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is ready to take on more complex design responsibilities. Working under the guidance of a Lead Engineer, you will contribute to the design of electrical distribution, lighting, and power systems, while sharpening your skills in technical specifications and interdisciplinary coordination. You will play a key role in moving projects from initial design through site implementation, ensuring all deliverables meet our rigorous quality standards.

What You'll Do
  • Perform Revit/AutoCAD system engineering
  • Design electrical distribution, lighting and power systems under the direction of a lead engineer
  • Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail
  • Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop skills to edit/write specifications
  • Develop the ability to understand other disciplines
  • Application of building codes and electrical industry standards
  • Prepare electrical load calculations and electrical equipment selection
  • Interact with clients and other project team members
  • Support the project lead in developing opinions of probable construction costs
  • Contribute to site visits and prepare reports
  • Thorough understanding of distribution Load Flow, Short Circuit and Arc Flash Energy analysis using Easy Power
  • Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline work
  • Requires a minimum 1-2 years of Electrical E-1 or equivalent experience
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate to others
  • Knowledge of project phases

What We Offer
  • Hiring Base Salary Range: $89,800-$109,700 annual
  • This position is eligible for time and a half overtime pay

The base salary is one component of PAE’s competitive compensation package for employees. We take into consideration a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in determining exact salary offered. At PAE, employees are eligible for annual compensation reviews based on performance and business needs.The above range represents PAE's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
