Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is seeking an Electrical Component Engineer in New Haven to drive component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management for access control products. You will partner with design engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure cost, lead time, and regulatory compliance meet targets.

You will own part guidance, lead reviews for new parts and alternates, and manage AVL/BOM data in PLM/ERP while mitigating risks such as single-source and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in component engineering for electronic products.
• Experience with AVL/BOM/part master data in PLM/ERP.
• Familiarity with RoHS/REACH and counterfeit risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Drive component selection decisions using datasheets and derating analyses.
• Lead reviews for new parts, alternates, and deviations with data-driven disposition.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Execute component deliverables to support milestones and production ramp.
• Maintain component records and ensure change-control paths are followed.
• Strengthen part data quality and standardization for designs and sourcing.
