Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop, and validate electronic locking solutions across hardware, firmware, and software domains. You will coordinate testing across electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical disciplines, ensuring regulatory compliance and production readiness.

This onsite role in New Haven, CT emphasizes collaboration, rigorous test planning, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electronic systems and/or firmware design, development, analysis, and testing.
• Hands-on experience with embedded microcontroller-based systems.
• Experience supporting new product development from concept through production.
• Ability to interpret schematics, engineering requirements, and test results.
• Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and resolving hardware, firmware, and software defects.
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, DVMs).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware and software platforms.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate testing activities across teams.
• Ensure designs meet requirements, quality standards, and certifications (FCC, UL, CE).
• Create test strategies, acceptance criteria, and validation procedures for new and legacy products.
• Perform manual and automated testing of mobile, Windows, and web applications.
• Develop testing tools and contribute to test automation solutions.
